The Magic of March 4th and how to make it work for you!

Today is March fourth!  I’ve decided it’s one of my favorite dates of the year!

“Why?” you ask? Well, it’s the only date I can think of that seems to contain a direction – even a mandate: March forth!

There are times when things don’t seem exactly coincidental and I think this is one of them. Maybe this is like a wink from God and a reminder to get moving. 😉

Here in cold country, it starts to warm up ever so slightly. Things start to thaw. Snow begins to melt. Crocuses, grape hyacinths and daffodils push their first lime green shoots out of the ground. There is the definite promise of Spring in the air!

As the earth begins to awaken, it signals us to come out of hibernation… to march forth into action!

November through February are kind of the sleepy months of the year for plants, for animals and often, for humans. As we take a rest from many of our activities, it’s a great time to build strength and to evaluate how we’d like to grow in the coming year.

If you haven’t taken the opportunity to do this, now may be the perfect time!  If you went through this in the new year and have already fallen off the goals bandwagon, maybe it’s because you weren’t ready to come out of hibernation. Now is the time to wake up, put your face towards the sun (or The Son) and plan for new beginnings.

Here are a few questions you might ask yourself:

  1. What steps can I take to improve my most important relationships? (God, family, friends, career, health, finances, etc)
  2. What lessons have I learned? How have I allowed the failures in my life to teach me?
  3. If I keep doing the same things I’ve been doing, will they take me to where I want to be? If not, what is one small change I can make?
  4. What are my dreams? If all my actual or perceived obstacles and fears were removed what would I want to do?
  5. What three action steps can I take, starting today, to make some positive changes and progress towards my ultimate life?

Come on! Don’t just scan down the list and think, “I’ll do this later.” Take 3 minutes right now to cut and paste this list into a document or email and commit to start a new habit today.  You can do it!

Once you’ve answered these questions and come up with a plan, it may be helpful for you to make a little reminder sign to post on your mirror or dashboard.

I’d love to hear what you come up with. Drop a comment below!

Have a happy day and be sure to March Forth!

Love,

Paulette
